Eligibility criteria
The Ehsas Kafalat Program is a social welfare scheme for poor families in Pakistan. This Ehsas Kafalat Program provides scholarships and buffaloes to poor families. Young people with innovative business ideas are credited for their efforts.
This Ehsas Kafalat Program also provides smartphones to women to help them in everyday transactions. The eligibility criteria for the program include a monthly income of less than Rs. 8,000 and a valid National Identity Card number.

Amount of stipend given to beneficiaries
The government announced that it will increase the stipend given to poor women by Rs. 14,000 and make the program open to all districts of Punjab, KP and Gilgit Baltistan.
The program will run from January 2022 to June 2022. The announcement came during a Senate session held on 18 June 2021.
The government also warned that some people will be collecting payments in order to cheat the poor women.
The government has introduced a new payment system called Payment to People. This system will make it possible to send money to any person in the world.
The program will be available from 2022 and will give beneficiaries a monthly allowance of Rs. 3,000. Successful applicants will be able to open bank accounts using their Kafalat cash stipends.
